Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tourism and Recreation

Visit the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in Okmulgee and the surrounding jurisdiction.  Try your luck at one of nine casinos or play a round of golf at the Fountainhead Golf Course on Lake Eufaula. Enjoy a meal at the Stone Blade Restaurant in the historic Okmvlke Country Club clubhouse in Okmulgee.  Eat, catch a movie or enjoy live entertainment at the Riverwalk family entertainment district on the Arkansas River in Jenks. Muscogee Creek Council House is an historical building in the center of downtown Okmulgee, Oklahoma. It was capitol of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation from 1878 to 1907, when Oklahoma became a state. In 1919 the U.S. Department of the Interior sold the building to the city of Okmulgee.  In 1961 the Council House was declared a National Historic Landmark.  In November of 2010, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation purchased the property from the city of Okmulgee.  Currently, historical restoration is taking place on the building and plans for the future include a Muscogee (Creek) Nation cultural center.

Tulsa RV Ranch

Okmulgee Invitational Rodeo and Festival

Okmulgee's Invitational Rodeo is the nation's oldest African-American rodeo, one of the state's longest running rodeos and one of the largest African-American sporting events in the nation. Entertaining audiences since 1956, the Okmulgee Invitational Rodeo also features a festival and parade.

Muscogee (Creek) Nation Festival

Each June, thousands of people gather at the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Claude Cox Omniplex in the city of Okmulgee for a weekend filled with activities celebrating contemporary Muscogee life.  This annual celebration includes cultural exhibitions, an award-winning rodeo, concerts featuring local and national acts, sports tournaments, arts and crafts, food, parade through historic downtown Okmulgee, senior citizens activities, and children’s activities.  All activities are free and open to the public.  Click here for more information.
